COVID-19 virus outbreak – Key Worker and Essential Goods status

24 March 2020

Following the PM’s announcement regarding new working practises to help stop the spread of COVID-19, we would like to reassure our customers and employees that Woodlets is part of the energy industry, producing solid fuel for commercial and domestic use, and electricity for export to the UK grid.

The organisation and its employees fall within the definition of Key Workers and the company’s employees are permitted to leave their homes in order to travel to and from their place of work and their children are entitled to ongoing schooling.

Woodlets is part of the energy and wood fibre processing industries, producing solid fuel for commercial and domestic use and  electricity for export to the UK grid.

Woodlets sends supplies throughout the UK in packaged and bulk formats. Our customer base includes:

•    NHS hospitals
•    Nursing homes for the elderly
•    Domestic properties

In the case of NHS hospitals, nursing homes and domestic properties they are dependent upon our products for heating and hot water.  It is therefore vital we maintain our supplies to these customers.

Woodlets and its employees, contractors, sub-contractors, delivery drivers and other service providers all fall within the definition of Key Workers and are permitted to travel from their homes to carry out their work as usual.

Woodlets will continue to observe all health precautions, as advised by the Department of Health and the National Health Service at its operational sites and those of its suppliers and customers.

If you need any further information please feel free to contact enquiries@woodlets.co.uk or anyone within the Woodlets Team.
